Credit Controller

Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for all the credit control activities relating to Credit administration and Collections, day to day Cash and Treasury Management, Internal and External Reporting, implementation and maintenance of controls and inter-departmental coordination that affects business decisions are carried out effectively and efficiently.

Financial Dimensions:

  • Direct: Account Receivable 125M; Expense 1.0M
  • Indirect: S&M 12M (may vary slightly by country/region)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manage Financial Activities

  • Responsible for all projects GP% are in line with the group policy
  • Responsible for reviewing and evaluating the expected profit level for the budget and actual projects and make comparison analysis to insure maximum return
  • Manage Finance and insurance contract terms and condition for Sales Order booking relating to the unit
  • Prepare any ad-hoc financial analysis required for decision-making
  • Manage day to day financial and accounting decisions related to the unit, in line with the FPI group policies and procedures
  • Responsible for timely closure of books for Month-end and Year-end reporting

Cash, Treasury and Banking Facilities

  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day relationship with all existing banks within the country in relation to credit and collections
  • Responsible for ensuing all unfunded (LC, LG’s, Bonds, warranties etc.) banking facilities are managed within agreed terms and conditions
  • If and when additional facilities are required; responsible for alerting Regional & Corporate Finance to make the required changes
  • Responsible for optimising collections
  • Review and approve credit terms by adhering to the Financial Authority Matrix
  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day relationship with banks / companies within the country in relation to credit and collections

Budget preparation and control

  • Responsible of preparing the base data for budgets and forecasts
  • Control all type of expenses as per the budget. Prepare comparisons and manage over and underutilization with local teams

Other

  • Working with Corporate Finance, ensure all banking and insurance request for clients are met on time.
  • Implement and enforce country/regional procedures (consistent with the Group policies and procedures)

  • Adhere to KPI’s set for Credit Control Team that are aligned with FPI’s mission and vision
  • Adhere to annual performance appraisals areas for improvements and development opportunities.
  • Meet Department’s objectives

SPAN OF COMMUNICATION

  • Internal: Director Finance GCC; EVP GCC; Chief Accounting Officer; Controller Credit & Collection GCC; GCC functional heads; Plant Finance Staffs; Internal Auditors; Business Units Heads
  • External: Banks; External Auditors; Customers, Insurance

JOB RELEVANT INFORMATION (BOUNDARIES & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY)

Make decisions within area of responsibility in line with the group policies and procedures and the authority matrix. Responsible for reporting any non-compliance with Group-wide policies and procedures.

Skills

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
  • Certification in Accounting desirable

Required Experience:

  • 3-4 years of total accounting experience with 2 years at least as Credit Controller in the manufacturing sector
