Responsibilities
- Transportation: Safely drive a company vehicle (e.g., car, van, truck) to designated locations in a timely and efficient manner, whether for goods delivery or passenger transport.
- Route Planning: Follow the assigned route and schedule, ensuring prompt arrivals and deliveries. Plan for optimal routes, taking into account road conditions, traffic, and time constraints.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform regular vehicle checks and maintenance (e.g., tire pressure, oil levels, cleanliness). Report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Adherence to Regulations: Comply with all local, state, and federal driving laws, including traffic rules, road safety, and environmental regulations.
- Communication: Maintain clear communication with supervisors, clients, or passengers to confirm arrival times, route changes, or delays. Provide assistance when necessary.
- Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork, including daily logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection reports, and mileage tracking.
- Safety: Ensure the vehicle is operated safely, both for personal protection and for the safety of passengers or cargo. Take the necessary precautions in case of accidents or emergencies.
- Customer Service: For passenger transport, maintain a professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with passengers, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey.
- Fuel Management: Monitor fuel consumption and refuel the vehicle when necessary, ensuring the vehicle is ready for use at all times.
