We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our Dubai office. This global role will involve managing the company’s financial transactions, cash flow, payroll, VAT returns, and financial reporting across our Dubai, UK, and USA operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with XERO and be familiar with bookkeeping, financial record maintenance, and working across multiple currencies and regions (UAE, UK, and USA). Global finance experience is a must, and you should be comfortable supporting multiple time zones and handling location-specific financial queries.
What will you be doing?
- Record all financial transactions accurately in XERO.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and collection.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure proper documentation.
- Manage fixed assets, prepayments, and month-end journals.
- Track and reconcile project costs with the Project Manager.
- Monitor and track cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for company operations.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
- Process salary and wage payments across multiple regions (UAE, UK, USA), including reimbursements, tax, and deductions.
- Manage employee benefits such as pension, medical insurance, air tickets, and gratuity.
- Ensure compliance with local VAT regulations, including collecting and remitting taxes as required.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Support external audits and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Provide support across different time zones, managing financial queries and tasks specific to each region.
What will you have done before?
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and financial record maintenance.
- Must have experience in global finance and managing financial processes across multiple countries and time zones.
- Experience supporting multiple time zones and managing region-specific financial queries.
- Strong knowledge of XERO and financial software tools.
- Experience in managing payroll across multiple countries.
- Familiarity with VAT and local tax regulations.
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
This role is hybrid, based in our Dubai office, with a requirement to work three days per week in the office.
