Job Description:

Develop and implement the Patient Engagement and Support Program tactics in UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain

Drive the PSP excellence and monitoring across Gulf Countries to shape the programs.

Manage the Patient Support Programs in the Gulf Countries

  • Create/Update JnJ PSP Process with memos governing the PSP in Gulf Countries
  • PSP Material Review, update and get it approved
  • Lead the PATIENT SUPPORT programs in the Gulf Countries.
  • Keep the Salesforce Program up to date with PSP activities
  • Negotiate with Vendors on new services, scope of service, KPIs and launch plan
  • Ensure DD is done and FMV is updated for all vendors
  • Ensure and update all projects on Iconnect
  • Ensure that PSP team are updating the PV, HCBI and the medical training
  • Ensure that all contracts are on ICD

Monitoring the Gulf Countries PSP Impact and the vendor performance:

  • Monitor Vendor’s Performance on monthly basis: Ensure their operational performance reports are received on timely basis, analyze performance and share key takeaways and actions with the CVT.
  • Address any performance gap by key actions and plan.
  • Update the Vendor’s KPIs as per the plan.
  • Ensure measurable outcomes delivered to key stakeholders (Vendors and JnJ)
  • Analyze Patients on PSP reports monthly, analyze the trend, and highlight in a dashboard to board and CVTs the key takeaways and actions to be set by the PSP team and by the CVT.

Manage the Gulf Countries PSP Budget

  • Responsible for the Brand spend for PSP: Yearly planning and maintaining the Brand Spend Budget on monthly basis
  • Ensure that budget allocated is being spent and update the brand spend in case of change
  • Maximize the budget used to benefit more patients and ensure spending is within planning
  • External Focus with HCPs, PAGs and Vendors:
  • HCPs
  • Establish relationship with main KOLs and hospital nurses to build partnership and to ensure the patient support programs are addressing the patients’ unmet needs
  • Increase the awareness on PSP
  • Educate hospital nurses on the right use of products all TAs as per the unmet need
  • Vendors
  • Become the Single Point of Contact with the PSP Vendors (all Patients Support Programs)
  • Responsible for the operational excellence and continuous enhancement: Ensuring execution within the program objective and pillars; ensuring communication plan set and followed.
  • Responsible for vendors operational management: Continuous meeting with UAE vendor nurses to ensure operational execution in line with scope of service and insights collection.
  • Responsible for the managing the nurses in the program in UAE
  • Leading the Cross-Functional Collaboration with Legal, Compliance, PV, Privacy, Quality, Finance to ensure the below:
  • Keep up to date the agreements governing the PSP in Gulf Countries by updating the agreements and creating amendments.
  • Ensure their optimization according to the program dynamics
  • Collaborate with governance committee to ensure approval of all new or amended PSP programs
  • Contribute to Memorandum of Understanding preparations where applicable
  • Contribute to renew or amend contracts
  • Assess the Market Dynamics and propose enhancement or initiation of new PSP in :
  • Patient Survey, results assessments, and workshops for action plans per project as needed
  • Digitization of PSPs
  • Programs enhancement
  • Analytics Monitoring & analysis
  • Shaping PSP
  • Relationship with extended CVT in different therapeutic areas
  • Maintain relationships with extended CVT and Sales team to ensure synergy.
  • Create & maintain awareness to the extended CVT about PSP
  • Become the Liaison between the Vendor and the internal team.
  • Regularly meet with the sales team and CVT to collect insights from teams/functions on relevant external needs to support the external needs and help shape the program.
  • Ensure strategy alignment across a matrix environment:
  • Ensure cross functional alignment and partnership on environment-shaping advocacy initiatives that have the potential to impact multiple areas of the business.
  • Close coordination with Medical, Commercial, Market Access and Country directors in developing and implementing strategies to achieve JnJ patient Support needs.
  • Maintaining technical knowledge:
  • Keep abreast of changes in the health system and understand implications for our current and future products.
  • Answer requests from external and internal customers concerning PSP in a timely manner.
  • Manage and handle the PSP feedback and outcomes.
  • Ensure safety reporting requirements (timely AE/PQC reporting) as set out in company policies and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are met and, where applicable, appropriately managed when planning projects, developing materials, executing projects and contracting vendors
  • Ensure HCC and legal requirements (Fair Market Value, Transfer of Value rules, Promotional Materials rules) are fully understood, appropriately managed and, where applicable, complied when planning projects, developing materials, executing projects and contracting vendors
  • Ensure inspection readiness with respect to personal training compliance, and availability of recent CV and individualized Job Description
  • Adhere to team processes, ensuring that all work is conducted in accordance with appropriate local, EMEA and global SOPs

Patient Engagement & Advocacy Role

  • Establishes sustained and effective relationships with national key advocacy stakeholders and key influencers in Gulf
  • Acts as a business ambassador for the company interacting with key strategic patient associations and other patient community platforms in order to increase company/brand awareness and reputation.
  • Help drive an understanding of and support for J&J’s positions on issues specific to the biopharmaceutical industry among third parties. Collaborates with Medical, Business, Communication, Governmental Affairs, and HEMAR teams to support markets and patients.
  • Ensures a high level awareness of the priorities and challenges facing patient advocacy communities, including TA (Therapy Areas)- and non-TA-specific issues.
  • Works closely together with the Medical, Business Unit, Communication, Public Affairs team & HEMAR (Health Economics, Market Access and reimbursement) teams.
  • Accesses the Market Dynamics and proposes enhancement or initiation of new PSP in Gulf by leading the Cross-Functional Collaboration with Legal, Compliance, PV, Privacy, Quality, Finance to ensure collaboration with governance committee to ensure approval of all new or amended PSP programs.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple teams to promote positive patient outcomes
  • Establish and maintain a relationship of trust and respect with patients Associations and groups within Gulf.
  • Assist patients in understanding their diagnoses, treatment options, and medical bills (through third party and Patient support programs.
  • Ensure that patients’ rights are respected.
  • Coordinate, care and facilitate communication between different healthcare providers.
  • Advocate for patients who are unable to speak for themselves.
