Job Description

The associate will collaborate cross functionally with members of the domain PODs to ensure accurate demand plans and forecasts are developed by each category at the starting of the year. Manage internal stakeholders to ensure demand plans are developed accurately in line with the business requirement and resolve any impediments if required.

Further the associate will also ensure that the working capital Supply Chain KPIs are in line with the defined targets.

As part of the Demand Planning Chapter, the associate will also identify best market practices, ensure consistency in sharing of best practices across the chapter members and Opcos

The Associate will work closely with the Principal – Demand Planning and Global Lead Planning & Fulfilment to achieve targeted outcomes as defined by the leadership.

Responsibilities

Key Activities & Responsibilities

§Design solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy in guidance of the CoE & POD Global leads and drive its implementation across Opcos
§Monitor and report on important changes in Opco demand forecasts, budgets, and business strategies, as defined by MTN Group
§Challenge the Opco demand forecasts from the procurement teams based on historical data, seasonality, market trends, budgets etc. and provide supporting data
§Ensure improvement in forecast accuracy at the individual category level by identifying root causes for forecast errors and implements initiatives to improve future forecast accuracy.
§Support demand planning activity to effectively estimate future project and material demand, through effective collaboration with Opco procurement team and analysis of statistical data, as guided by Principal Demand Planning
§Collaborate with other Demand Planning team members and collect inputs from the different PODs and provide inputs to Principal Demand Planning to identify opportunities for consolidation across Domains / categories and help achieve cost efficiencies across multiple contracts
§Refine forecast models based on macroeconomic and industry trends, business strategy and demand patterns, and optimize KPIs
§Design and embed processes and system interventions to improve forecast accuracy, governance, procurement and material standardization for the Opcos
§Ensure optimum utilization of working capital and assist Principal Demand Planning with standard and ad-hoc analyses for working capital management metrics
§As a member of CoE,  collaborate with Principal Demand Planning to assist the Global Lead Supply chain Excellence in identifying best practices for operations planning, inventory management, resource management and executing any other special or targeted initiatives on Supply Chain Finance, Working Capital Management, Volume-Based Capital Allocation (VBCA) etc.
§While working in sprints, perform standard and ad hoc analyses for demand planning metrics (inventory, on-time delivery, lead-time, forecast accuracy, resource utilization).
§In sprints, monitor the working capital requirements and coordinate with respective finance business partners for release of additional working capital
§As a member of squads, successfully communicate Opco forecast and inventory estimations to the respective Squad Leaders
§During sprint planning, Identifying deviations from the demand plan and implement initiatives to improve adherence to the demand plan by breaking them down into outcomes to be achieved as part of sprints
§During sprint review, ensure customer satisfaction is at the highest level and as per service delivery standards.
§As a part of sprint retrospective, communicate Demand Planning and Working Capital insights to CoE & POD Global leads & other MTN stakeholders, guaranteeing transparent and stronger collaboration.
§Attend daily stand-ups  and discuss bottlenecks & focus areas identified during the sprints

Qualifications

Education:

•Minimum 4-year Academic Degree (Supply Chain Management/ Business Finance / BSc: Computer Science Degree preferred)
•Post graduate degree in Supply Chain Management and / or equivalent Professional qualification (Preferred)

Experience:

•3- 5 years relevant working experience
•2 -3  years of relevant working experience in Demand planning, forecasting and working cap. management
•Experience in the demand forecasting and analysis
•Experience in order management, working capital management and fulfillment
•Understanding of emerging telecom/ supply chain practices and trends
•Experience working in a medium to large organization, managing Demand planning, forecasting and working capital.
•Experience working across global locations/ regions and have a grasp of political, social, infrastructure challenges
•Experience in SAP, ARIBA, or a major ERP System(s) (Preferably Oracle)
•Experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practices (SCM)

Industry / Certifications (Advantageous):

•Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
•Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)
•Certified Professional Forecaster (CPF) (preferred)
•Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification
•SCOR – Supply Chain Operations Reference certification
