Context
As urban populations grow and demand for efficient, reliable public transport increases, metro systems globally are faced with the challenge of expanding capacity and maintaining service quality. Within this context, SYSTRA is committed to ensuring the existing metro network can support both current and future needs.
To achieve this, there is a critical need to evaluate the current metro network and systems through the lens of rolling stock capabilities. Accommodating additional trains requires a thorough understanding of operational, technical, and system-wide implications. Continuous improvement and modernization of rolling stock are essential to maintaining safety, optimizing performance, and meeting evolving passenger expectations.
The Project Manager will play a key role in this strategic initiative by leading studies and assessments, identifying operational and technical gaps, and recommending enhancements specific to rolling stock and related metro infrastructure. The outcomes of this work will directly inform investment decisions and the successful evolution of the metro network.
Missions/Main Duties
- Conduct comprehensive studies on the existing metro network and rolling stock systems.
- Analyze operational data and asset conditions to understand current performance and capacity limitations.
- Evaluate network readiness for integration of additional trains.

- Advise on procurement, refurbishment, or technological upgrades aligned with project objectives.
- Prepare technical reports and business cases for recommended improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Operations, Maintenance) and external stakeholders (suppliers, authorities).
- Lead workshops and technical discussions to align on requirements and solutions.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resources related to rolling stock improvements.
- Monitor progress, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project deliverables.
- Lead risk assessment and mitigation planning.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Transporation Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in rolling stock, rail systems, or metro project management.
