In this role you will get to oversee and lead the implementation and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) across large-scale infrastructure projects for the Landside Infrastructure (including Roads, Tunnels, Rail, Utilities, and Building assets).

This role involves ensuring the seamless integration of BIM processes into all stages of design, construction, and operation, enhancing project collaboration, efficiency, and quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in BIM management, project coordination, and an in-depth understanding of BIM tools and methodologies.

What You’ll Be Doing:

BIM Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement the BIM strategy for infrastructure projects, aligning with project goals, client requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Define the BIM execution plan (BEP), ensuring alignment with project objectives and milestones.
  • Establish BIM standards, guidelines, and procedures for the project team, ensuring consistent and efficient use of BIM tools and workflows across all project phases.

BIM Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Lead the coordination of BIM workflows across multidisciplinary teams (architecture, engineering, construction), ensuring seamless data exchange and integration between stakeholders.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all BIM-related issues, providing guidance and support to internal teams, subcontractors, and external partners.
  • Ensure regular coordination meetings for reviewing the BIM model, identifying issues, and ensuring all team members are aligned on goals and deliverables.

Modeling and Data Management:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of 3D models for all disciplines, ensuring accurate, up-to-date, and clash-free models throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage BIM data integration, ensuring proper version control, model updates, and coordination with the Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Ensure effective data management, including handling of metadata, assets, and model-related information to support collaboration and decision-making.

Clash Detection and Issue Resolution:

  • Implement clash detection processes using BIM tools (e.g., Navisworks, Solibri), conducting regular reviews to identify and resolve any design conflicts or coordination issues.
  • Collaborate with design and construction teams to resolve clashes and ensure that the models are ready for downstream activities (e.g., fabrication, construction).
  • Track and resolve any BIM-related issues, providing solutions and recommendations to optimize model quality and project workflow.

Training and Support:

  • Lead the training and development of project team members in the use of BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, BIM 360, etc.) and BIM-related processes.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for BIM tools, ensuring that all team members are proficient in utilizing BIM technologies.
  • Promote continuous learning on the latest BIM trends, tools, and industry practices, integrating these into project workflows.

Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Ensure the quality assurance and quality control of BIM processes, ensuring adherence to project requirements, standards, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits of the BIM model to ensure it is fully compliant with internal standards, client specifications, and project deliverables.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of industry standards, including ISO 19650, and ensure that BIM deliverables are compliant with these standards.

Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop and present regular BIM progress reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and upcoming milestones.
  • Provide updates on the status of the BIM model, project timeline, and any risks or issues related to BIM integration.
  • Work closely with the project management team to ensure BIM integration aligns with project timelines, costs, and resource allocation.

Innovation and Process Improvement:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in BIM technologies, methodologies, and trends, incorporating new innovations that improve project efficiency and outcomes.
  • Lead continuous process improvement efforts to enhance the integration of BIM across the project lifecycle.
  • Champion the use of advanced BIM applications such as 4D scheduling, 5D cost estimation, and facility management integration.

  • Proven track record of managing BIM workflows across multiple disciplines and throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, BIM 360, Autocad).
