Job Summary. 
The Account Manager – Drilling Tools & Intervention Services is responsible for developing a deep understanding of the operator’s and drilling contractor’s requirements for Directional Drilling Tools, Performance Drilling Tools, Drilling Motors, and Fishing & Intervention services. This includes knowledge of their drilling programs, tool reliability expectations, performance drivers, and well intervention strategies.

As a representative of NOV, the Account Manager ensures our Downhole tools and Intervention services consistently deliver value to customers, improving drilling efficiency, reducing non-productive time (NPT), and supporting safe, reliable operations. Acting as the customer’s trusted advisor, the Account Manager provides technical insight, commercial solutions, and responsive service, while ensuring NOV’s capabilities are fully aligned with client objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Maximize revenue and profitability by positioning NOV’s drilling tools and intervention services as the preferred solution for operators and drilling contractors.
  • Proactively engage with customer drilling, intervention, and procurement teams to understand operational challenges and propose tailored service solutions using NOV’s portfolio of Directional Drilling Tools, Drilling Motors, Performance Tools, and Fishing & Intervention capabilities.
  • Ensure reliable service delivery by coordinating closely with NOV’s field operations, engineering, and maintenance teams, providing customers with confidence in tool performance and service quality.
  • Communicate NOV’s technical and operational successes through performance reviews, post-job analyses, and customer presentations, demonstrating measurable improvements in efficiency, cost reduction, and tool reliability.
  • Actively monitor competitor activity in service delivery, identifying weaknesses or gaps in their performance, and positioning NOV as the superior service partner.
  • Capture opportunities for expanding NOV’s scope of services, listening for requirements that extend across drilling and intervention product lines, and feeding back intelligence through NOV’s CRM system.
  • Build and sustain strong, professional relationships with customer stakeholders at all levels to reinforce NOV’s reputation as a trusted service provider.
  • Ensure responsiveness to customer requests while upholding ethics, HSE standards, and service quality as non-negotiable differentiators in NOV’s value offering.
  • Lead NOV’s participation in bids and tenders for service contracts, ensuring proposals highlight NOV’s service reliability, technical performance, and total cost of ownership benefits.
  • Provide NOV management with recommendations on the resources, tools, and technical support required to secure and grow accounts.
  • Actively share market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitor insights with internal stakeholders to refine service delivery and improve NOV’s competitive positioning.
  • Document all account activities, customer interactions, and service opportunities in NOV’s sales systems and CRM to ensure visibility and alignment across the business.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED: 

Essential: 

  • At least 8+ years of previous work experience in Performance Drilling Tools and Drilling Motors, Directional Drilling.  
  • Knowledge of Fishing & Intervention activities
  • Deep knowledge of local markets where the account operates, especially Abu Dhabi is essential
  • Knowledge of other Drilling Tools, Coiled Tubing and Service Equipment is advantageous
  • Relevant Education background
  • Deep knowledge of competition’s offering, pricing tactics and sales strategies
  • Proven record of successful negotiation
  • Arabic Language – preferred
