This time 30 years ago, UNStudio was just a pen, a drawing board, and an idea in two young minds: Ben van Berkel, a lecturer at TU Delft, and Caroline Bos, an art historian and architectural journalist. At their kitchen table, they sketched out their first designs, and the future of UNStudio. Since then, we have not stopped moving, and we have no intention of stopping. Fast forward 30 years and we are operating from six international offices and designing in over 30 countries.

All-Round Architect – Dubai

We are looking for enthusiastic All-round Architects with 5-8 years of experience to join our team in Dubai.

As an international architectural firm, UNStudio is active in the broadest fields of architecture. Our project portfolio covers every aspect of architecture, ranging from small- to large-scale projects, research and theory. The atmosphere within each of our offices is international, multidisciplinary, design-oriented and ambitious, but also open, non-hierarchical, team-based and friendly, with attention to personal well-being, knowledge development, and career planning.

We are currently looking for an All-round Architect to join our Dubai office. The ideal candidate should have strong design sensibilities, technical skills, a flexible mentality, and experience managing all stages of a project, from concept design and with a keen interest in construction stage.

The Position:

We are looking for an all-round architect with strong design skills and an awareness of technical parameters. You will be focusing on various aspects of architectural design, ranging from research and theory, to a spectrum of programmatic scales and typologies (See our Projects page). This position will require you to continue growing your current responsibility level while helping train and mentor junior staff. Becoming a self-guided professional that never stops learning and continues teaching others is key for the culture of the office.

The Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Architecture
  • Experience as a Design Architect or as an Architectural Intern within a dynamic, international environment (1 to 5 years of experience)
  • Outstanding knowledge of 3D Modelling in Rhinoceros plus Grasshopper a big plus.
  • Familiar with all phases of design and construction
  • Experience with Revit software is a very big plus
  • Knowledge of 2D drawing in AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of rendering software such as V-ray
  • Fluent in English (presenting, speaking, reading, writing)
  • Multi-lingual a plus
  • Highly motivated, self-guided, and research driven
  • Willing to contribute to our collective knowledge culture
