Job Description

Job Overview:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities by establishing contact with potential clients and scheduling credible meetings with businesses and organisations. The role involves building and maintaining strong client relationships, driving revenue growth, and fostering strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Generate New Business Opportunities: Drive high-quality new business appointments for the sales team by engaging with prospects through various channels, including inbound inquiries, marketing activities, and personal outreach (e.g., LinkedIn).
  2. Promote Solutions: Articulate and demonstrate Born28’s expertise in digital marketing  and Corvidae software solutions to excite prospects and secure credible meetings, highlighting the value over competitors.
  3. Qualify Meetings: Engage with prospects to understand their goals, manage expectations, and ensure qualified, high-value meetings are booked.
  4. Strategic Focus: Define and execute clear, ambitious strategies for assigned projects to deliver high-performing services that delight users. Balance short- and long-term priorities to ensure impactful outcomes.
  5. Database Management: Maintain and update client databases daily with clear and concise information, and provide regular reports to management.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with marketing to ensure adequate lead-generation campaigns and collaborate across teams to prioritize tasks and projects effectively.
  7. Problem-Solving & Leadership: Lead resolution of ongoing issues, diagnose root causes, and implement action plans to ensure future prevention. Independently tackle challenges and contribute solutions.

Skills

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1.  2+ years in an Sales Development, appointment setting, or opportunity generation role within a SaaS or cloud-based software vendor, ideally targeting Digital Marketing or Ecommerce contacts.
  2. Familiarity with and interest in digital marketing, martech, attribution, or SaaS is highly advantageous.
  3. Demonstrated ability to exceed SQL targets with a strong drive to achieve and succeed.
  4. Skilled at establishing rapport with prospects, colleagues, and stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration.
  5. Ability to understand prospect needs, read situations effectively, and respond appropriately to drive engagement.
  6. Highly organised with strong planning skills, capable of prioritising time and tasks to achieve objectives efficiently.
  7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, ensuring clarity and influence in interactions.
  8. Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude with a commitment to contributing to team OKRs and collective success.
