Emirates NBD, the leading Banking Group in the MENAT region, was formed on 19 June 1963, when H.H. Business Sourcing Manager

Job Description

To apply for this role, it is essential to have experience in Marketing Procurement (including Media, Advertising, Digital Marketing, Sponsorships, Events & Activations, Market Research and PR services). Experience of Cards Related services Procurement (including cards production and lifestyle benefits) would also be preferred. 

The Sourcing Manager (reporting to the Business Sourcing Senior Manager) is responsible for executing strategic sourcing initiatives for a set of categories (Marketing & Cards) to drive cost efficiencies, supplier performance, and category management excellence across Group Locations. This role focuses on managing vendor relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring compliance with sourcing policies and regulations. The Manager also optimizes sourcing operations and delivers value through supplier relationships.

On a day-day you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Process to Select and Manage Vendors: Lead the vendor selection and negotiation process; establishes and maintains contractual and business relationships with the vendors; monitors contract compliance. Drive negotiations with individual vendors to ensure cost savings objectives while maintaining supply quality.
  • Managing direct reports as applicable.
  • Driving annual productivity improvements in each spend category under your responsibility. Develop, champion, and ensure implementation of ideas that will optimize the Bank’s total cost year-over-year for assigned spend categories. 
  • Strategy Implementation And Contract Compliance: Ensure strategies are implemented and reductions secured according to implementation plans. Contract compliance will be actively monitored by the Sourcing Manager and when required, the Sourcing Manager will work with business unit leadership to address non-compliance issues
  • Customer Satisfaction: Develop, implement, and monitor business unit satisfaction with key suppliers and the support/responsiveness of the centre purchasing activity for assigned leverage commodities. Develop expertise in the assigned spend categories for the assigned market and category
  • Remaining Current With Market Trends Through Relationships With Vendors And Market Experts: Identifying and communicating new technologies and solutions to Company’s key problems in the assigned spend areas. Be the first line of contact with suppliers
  • Driving Best Practices Across All Company Groups/Segments/Subsidiaries For Assigned Sourcing Categories: Identify/define sourcing best-practices both within and external to Company and work with key stakeholders to ensure that those best practices are widely adopted by Company’s Groups, segments and subsidiaries. Regularly exchange best practice with counterparts across Group Locations
  • Upholding Internal And External Policies, Regulations And Laws: Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal and local laws and regulations as well as any internal policies (e.g. code of ethics) or procedures to ensure that the behavior exhibited by the organization is honest, ethical and professional
  • Supplier Performance Monitoring: Work with the Vendor Performance Management team to monitor existing supplier performance and provide regular reports on the overall performance of supplier portfolio. Work with underperforming suppliers to improve performance and flag high-risk suppliers to management
  • Support Overall Category Management Plans: Work with Strategic Sourcing Leadership to support overall category management

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • CIPS level 3 as a minimum. Level 4 or higher preferred
  • Multi-year track record in a sourcing organization.
  • Specific commodity experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of Strategic sourcing/category management
  • Technical skills: problem-solving and analytical skills, negotiations skills, clear understanding of S2C cycle and drivers of costs savings / efficiency in sourcing
  • Managerial skills: project management, negotiating skills, organized and detail-oriented, quick learner. Must be comfortable with resolving conflict. Must be a self-starter and independent worker. Must have a passion for reducing cost, able to work in a dual matrix environment and lead savings strategies.
