We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chargehand to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a Chargehand, you will play a crucial role in supervising and coordinating daily operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality standards are met. This position requires a strong leader with excellent technical skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Lead and supervise a team of workers, assigning tasks and coordinating daily activities
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment
- Monitor work progress and quality, making adjustments as necessary to meet project deadlines
- Collaborate with management to plan and organize work schedules and resource allocation
- Provide hands-on support and guidance to team members as needed
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, address concerns, and promote teamwork
- Perform quality checks on completed work and maintain accurate records
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs
- Train new team members on proper work procedures and safety protocols
- Assist in resolving any workplace conflicts or issues among team members
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus
- Proven leadership abilities and experience managing diverse teams
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the relevant industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Efficient time management and organizational skills
- Basic maintenance skills relevant to the industry
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or work orders
- Computer literacy for reporting and documentation purposes
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environmental conditions
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is beneficial
- Valid UAE work visa or eligibility to obtain one
- Industry-specific certifications may be required (depending on the sector)
