ESG Reporting Manager
Qualifications
- University degree with excellent academic record; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience working on communications initiatives including ESG reporting
- Knowledge of, and passion for, ESG topics
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills
- Non-hierarchical, collaborative, comfortable working in a global team environment, both as a contributor and as a leader
- Presence and credibility with senior leaders; ability to influence and build trust-based relationships with leaders at all levels
- Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively
Who You’ll Work With
You will be based in any of our global offices in different regions such as North America, Asia, Europe, EEMA, Latin America and/or China. You’ll be an integral part of McKinsey’s Global Social Responsibility (GSR) cell, which was founded to help shape, implement and communicate the firm’s social responsibility strategy.
You will work with the GSR leadership and a team of passionate, collaborative, and high-performing colleagues to shape and share our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy. You will also work closely with colleagues across the firm’s internal functions, client-serving practices and communications and publishing network.
What You’ll Do
You’ll help shape and execute our global Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy with the dual goal of lifting the firm’s reputation.
You will work closely with firm leaders and committees, own the development of McKinsey’s global ESG strategy and roadmap that is integrated with McKinsey’s social responsibility strategy, purpose and objectives. You will work across a diverse group of stakeholders (including risk, legal, finance, people, supply chain) to build visibility across ESG areas and to implement and track progress against ESG goals. You will also maintain a suite of key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to our material ESG topics and our public commitments. You will build opportunities to embed ESG decision-making into firm functions and processes.
You will support and manage McKinsey’s cross-functional ESG working group(s), shaping and ensuring delivery against priorities and communication against goals and progress, launch and support ESG initiatives and project-based efforts on an as needed basis (e.g. short-term initiatives and one-time projects) and build broad support for critical ESG initiatives and ensure resources committed to deliver against them.
You will also develop distinctive expertise in ESG trends and landscape (risks and opportunities) and shape stakeholder-driven strategy and tactics to minimize risks while improving overall reputation based on our ESG activities. You will identify next-horizon opportunities for McKinsey to engage externally, including coalitions, working groups, and partnerships. You will also participate in high-priority partnerships and coalitions, building McKinsey’s presence and credibility with critical stakeholders.
