Human Resources Business Partner

Job Description

As Human Resources Business Partner you will work with a number of business units and functions acting as a key point of contact and internal consult for business leaders, managers and stakeholders, handling varied HR matters with empathy and understanding whilst also focusing on the delivery of HR programs that add value and contribute to the successful execution of business unit and organisational strategy.  Your commitment to driving international best practices and a future focused HR approach will be crucial in this role as you support, advise and act as a trusted partner and internal consultant to the business.  You will also be involved in driving HR projects that support the strategic aims of the business units you support, Country HR projects and the successful execution of Global HR projects within the business units you partner to.

  • Provide expert input across a range of HR issues (generalist / specific expertise); and design and deliver impactful solutions that meet the needs of the business.
  • Coach and build the capability of managers to anticipate and pre-empt organizational and team issues.
  • Participate in and execute relevant projects, leading and championing as appropriate (business unit/Country HR and/or Global) to build and enhance Fugro’s reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Understand and anticipate the need for change, diagnose the underlying issues and build the case for change with stakeholders. Work with stakeholders to effectively manage change and transition plans.
  • Use and understand Fugro’s HR tools, processes and policies (Peakon, Performance Management, Compensation Cycle, Talent Assessment), engaging with business unit stakeholders effectively to ensure effective delivery of / use of programs within business units.
  • Proactively work with stakeholders to support the delivery of high performance and to maximise talent, capability and succession into key roles.
  • Work closely with all HR colleagues to ensure that tools and policies are aligned, enhance employee engagement and ultimately improve performance.
  • Use data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of tools and policies and understand the landscape for further improvement.
  • Contribute to, and where accountable define policies and processes that support business unit and HR strategies.
  • Keep up to date with external trends and best practice in the areas of HR expertise and HR more broadly.
  • Drive consistency of approach across Fugro business units in attracting, managing and developing talent to support current and future needs.
  • Build relationships and form alliances with external counterparts, communities of practice and stakeholders to proactively seek HR innovations, best practice and learning.
  • Be an ambassador and role model for the HR function and represent HR internally and externally (as appropriate).
