As Hygiene Officer, we rely on you to:
- Assist the Stewarding & Hygiene Manager to organize, coordinate, control and support all SFS / ISO 22000:2018 and DM Food code requirements
- Support Stewarding Department’s activities
- Ensure the highest level of sanitation and hygiene standards in the hotel
- Ensure all food served to guests and employees is free of microbiological, chemical, and physical contamination, and all work areas conform to minimum requirements set by local health authorities
- Work closely with relevant Department Heads to facilitate excellent communication and ensure the realization of established quality standards
- Ensure segregation of all raw and cooked food procedures are strictly observed
- Monitor temperature logs of refrigerators, freezers, hot-holding units, and food items
- Investigate and report hygiene breaches and take corrective/preventive actions
- Ensure Food stock rotation practices are adhered to
- Conduct daily spot checks and audits to ensure all food safety standards are adhered to
We are looking for someone who:
- Has minimum 2–3 years of experience in food safety, hygiene, or quality assurance in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Attained Local Municipality Food Safety Training
- Has a Diploma or bachelor’s degree in food safety, Environmental Health, Microbiology, Public Health, or related field
- Has relevant certification – HACCP, ISO 22000, or Food Safety Management System Certification
- Upholds professional values, ethics, and integrity at all times
- Communicates and writes with fluency in English
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills
