Job Purpose

Implementation of DP World GHSE strategy, standards, guidelines and programs with an overall focus of risk reduction. Participate in the delivery of DP World’s philosophy of zero harm to our people & the environment with a focus of elimination of serious injuries and fatality (SIF).

This will include to monitor and support Health and Safety, Environmental compliance with applicable HSE laws and regulations and manage the Pavilion at Expo City Dubai.

Key Accountabilities

Applicable to all HSE Managers:

  • Provide input and support the development of strategic directions for Safety and Environment.
  • Manage the process of data collection, collation and report generation to meet the systematic and ad hoc information required i.e. Board, CIR, MSER and Annual reports that contribute in making strategic and sound decisions.
  • Develop documents which include HSE standards, programs and initiatives that give effect to continuous improvements HSE policies and strategies.
  • Preparation of plans for implementation of HSE strategies for regions and business units.
  • Promote and demonstrate positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s values and culture.
  • Ensure that the highest levels of HSE are applied in all activities.
  • Undertake HSE audits and assessment(s). Identify non-compliances and improvement opportunities and develop.
  • Liaise with group HSE for any support required for HSE initiatives & projects.
  • Maintain continual improvement leadership at all levels of the Pavilion through the implementation of programs, standards, hierarchy of controls, training, and implementation of best practices.
  • Understand and adhere to DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) leadership and technical advice to the DP World Pavilion.
  • Provide leadership, direction and support for the implementation of the DP World HSE Policy.
  • Assisting Legacy team in achieving the relevant HSE Objectives and Targets.
  • Develop, write and maintain a variety of reports, documents, correspondence and records related to DP World HSE reporting.
  • Establish forums to promote a collaborative approach to Health and Safety leadership and identify and communicate industry best practices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing and potential stakeholders of the EXPO City.
  • Prepare and implement a schedule of HSE monitoring and audits.
  • Undertake HSE monitoring and assurance of construction activity at DP World Pavilion.
  • Manage and monitor the development of Contractor HSE deliverables and review to ensure it meets relevant HSE requirements for safe working. Also, advise responsible stakeholders to improve HSE standards where required.
  • Maintain all required HSE documentation and reporting related to HSE matters, i.e., CIR’s, HSE KPIs, external HSE notifications, incident reports, assurance reports, training logs etc.
  • Perform other related HSE duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Formal HSE qualification to Diploma / Degree level for example: NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and or NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ practical experience as an S&E manager
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in heavy industrial environments
  • Experience in the development and management of risk, corrective action plans and projects
  • Excellent influencing skills demonstrated through verbal and written communication
  • Excellent change management skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels within the organisation and lead / coach workgroups and individuals
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Contract and Contractor management experience.
