JOB DESCRIPTION

Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

The Manager – Finance Business Partner Subsea & Fixed will play an integral role within the Bayobab Finance team supporting Fixed Connectivity business team in Bayobab and across Opcos. This role will be eyes and ears of the Management on all financial matters related to Fixed Business both Internal and External customer services and work closely with Bayobab FinOps to provide necessary support to the business.

This is a multifaceted role where it requires greater attention to details, strong financial analytical and presentation skills, financial risk management, Oracle reporting, control governance together with experience in overall Finance operations to review and setup finance policies and procedures as per the industry best practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA’s)

The Manager – Finance Business Partner Subsea & Fixed will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

  • Single point of contact for all Fixed wholesale connectivity business in Bayobab both Internal and external customers
  • Custodian of the Business line P&L for Bayobab Fixed business – Internal (IRUs, O&M, GEBU, Satellite, backhaul services to Opcos) and external customer revenue.
  • Future focus and being proactive by building revenue rolling forecast based on sales pipeline, current run rate, churns etc and engage with Business to assess the progress.
  • Review all new sales deals align to approved price book and DoA matrix in Haraka
  • Attend where required consortium F&A Sub Committee meetings
  • Monitor GP Margin and Opex related to the business against budget, PY and Forecast
  • Participate in various business review meetings and events and provide finance input
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly management reports for Business and Bayobab Finance
  • Coordinate with the commercial team and prepare the Business plan & forecast
  • Provide all financial information to Business in setting up annual KPI target and continue to monitor against budget
  • Review various contracts/ Service Order Forms & brief GM Finance & CFO for sign-off
  • Review customer pricings and back-to-back commercial deals and margin thereof
  • Custodian of Submarine cable recovery model and continue to update the model based on revenue and cost to assess its recoverability, NPV, Pay back
  • Review on going projects (2 Africa and Equiano) and keep track of actual spend against Approved business case/ budget and provide update to BAYOBAB Finance leadership team
  • Track and report at regular basis the progress of building 2 Africa Cable landing stations in Nigeria, SA, Sudan
  • Engage with various Business partners in all financial matters
  • Perform various ad-hoc financial analysis based on management requirements
  • Review business case and provide feedback to Bayobab Finance leadership team
  • Review routine check of pricing in the system with the signed price book/rate cards
  • Corresponds to internal and external inquiries Manage day-to-day activities
  • Any additional tasks and duties as assigned by Management time to time
  • Support Sales and commercial team in building short- and long-term business plan
  • Review of Pricing proposals submitted by Bayobab Sales and Commercial team
  • Coordination with Opco wholesale team for reporting, business planning and analysis
  • Post implementation reviews of major investment projects and ROI

QUALIFICATIONS

Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

Education:

  • 4-year Accounting/Finance degree from a recognized university
  • Fully Qualified CA / CPA/ ACMA (CIMA) /ACCA
  • Postgraduate or MBA in Finance would be plus

Experience:

  • 5+ years relevant experience in relevant areas of the business
  • Hyperion reporting, FCCS and analysis experience is a must
  • Experience in Audit environment coupled with commercial background
  • Stakeholder management
