Manager – IT Data Engineering

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

To build capabilities to support flydubai’s enterprise data and analytics, by transforming data into a format that can be easily analysed. To take charge of creating data models and services for various line of business operations, in collaboration with IT Lines of Business, Enterprise Architecture and Business stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for building data architecture that drives insights.
• Leads administration and support team of core data engineering platform such as AWS EMR, hadoop, Redshift, DMS, Hudi, Framework.
• Identifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements: automates manual processes, optimises data delivery, re-designs infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Modernises the data platform with latest technologies and cloud capabilities.
• Creates reusable components, frameworks, and libraries at scale.
• Facilitates conversations about scalability of data architecture to handle massive data amounts and address diverse data challenges.
• Provides data engineering support to the Data Science teams, helps in building the AI/ML models and deployment on flydubai data platform.
• Collaborates with IT lines of business and analytics leaders to assist in prioritising work.
• Aligns technology choices for standard practices.
• Leads, motivates, coaches, and develops a data engineering, data science and visualisation team.
