Diageo has newly established MENA as a standalone market within Europe next to 5 other entities: Northern Europe, Southern Europe, Eastern Europe, GB and Ireland.

Context/Scope:
MENA, (Middle East and North Africa), is one of the most competitive, complex, volatile and fastest growing markets globally.
Purpose of Position
The Marketing Manager, (MM), is the custodian of Diageo brands and will work to ensure its future growth and success.
You will own, drive and manage the creation of brand strategy and brand plans based on consumer, customer and shopper insights.
- Recruitment/Re-recruitment: both from a customer and consumer perspective
- Scaling: in all commercial elements of the brands, building strong relationships with the commercial teams on the ground to deliver above and beyond the AOP.
- Fame: making these brands the most talked about across the market. Will work with the Global Brand Teams, multiple agencies, cross-functional teams, and partners to deliver on our salience and brand love objectives.
- Physical Availability: the ability to see, find and trigger associated memories in a buying context, all resulting in success at the point of purchase.
Own the full P&L for the brands across the market. Understand and respond to the drivers of the brand performance, working in partnership with the commercial/financial/supply/NRM teams to deliver and exceed the annual operating plan.
Leadership Responsibilities
Engage, coach, advise and support all team members on all the brand activities, demonstrating leadership both in the what and the how so that they can excel in and deliver brand activities. Working closely with Legal & CR to ensure constant brand integrity and compliance.
Key Accountabilities
- Find, own and build the role the brand plays in culture.
- Ensuring the brand strategy is answering the market/consumer needs.
- Create brand strategies and drive them through to brilliantly implement plans that consistently beat the competition and gain share.
- Allocate the A&P by brand based on strategic pillars.
- Move the strategy into action and insure bold flawless roll out.
- Lead the relationship with the Global Brand Teams.
- Connecting global brand plans with the local relevancy
- Ensure plans are fed into the GBT
- Creating and developing innovation for the portfolio.
- Innovation should answer a specific market need.
- To make sure the portfolio is up to date.
- To be ahead of the game in what we are offering to our consumers.
ABOUT YOU
- Successful management of senior partners at all levels, resulting in strong and positive outcomes
- Holistic skills across all marketing pillars as well as a track record of leading entrepreneurial business results.
- A history of working across media, digital, experiential, PR, culture, social and with external agencies.
- Demonstrated brilliant execution to impeccably high standards.
- Strong end to end commercial FMCG understanding, alongside high levels of numerical foresight and attention to details.
- 8+ years of relevant marketing experience.
- Having regional experience within the beer category or direct FMCG within the non-alcohol drinks sector would be highly advantageous.
- Exceptional ability to build and maintain genuine relationships based on mutual trust & respect.
- Experience of working with and leading a team, whether directly or indirectly
- Experience working across multiple countries/geographies/cultures.
