Pricing Analyst, Project Operations

The Pricing Analyst’s primary job is to procure and negotiate buy rates for DSV business in line with the market and in a manner that positions DSV to have a higher win ratio on all pricing bids. The Pricing Analyst is analytical, characterized by a high attention to detail, accuracy, ability to meet deadlines and work with large and complex pricing files. This person can understand the big picture, identify trends and highlight same to management in order to allow DSV to be better positioned to win. In addition, maintains & further develops market intelligence in close collaboration with other stakeholders such as Operations, Sales & Management.

It is expected that a Pricing Analyst is able to work with direction given, raise concerns and adhere to all deadlines provided. It is also expected that this person has strong communication and organizational skills.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Convert rate/cost input from DSV stakeholders into customer rate sheets
  • Manage and respond to spot quotation requests as well as RFQs in line with customer’s need for FCL, LCL, Air, OOG (including Project cargo)
  • Manage the timelines and submission dates effectively
  • Coordinate for competitive buy rates with carriers and other key stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate with carriers and build relationships with key decision makers
  • Be accountable for content, quality and review of customer requirements, documents
  • Play a key role in the development of Pricing / Tender Management services to drive efficiencies and innovation
  • Manage feedback from customers analyzing the responses to understand the impact on current key trade lanes
  • Develop a board understanding of market rates and dynamics
  • Monitor and update commercial price lists
  • Identifies opportunities to optimize sales and profitability through pricing strategies
  • Coordinate, facilitate and drive winning tender and implementation processes
  • Collaborate with main stakeholders in line with pricing desk processes and requirements
  • Establish strong relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Establish pricing levels in accordance with company guidelines
  • Be able to acknowledge and understand company capabilities and identify improvement areas where needed

Qualifications & Characteristics:

  • Strong data analysis, problem solving and strategy development skills
  • Proven ability to create and coordinate tender proposals / pricing inquiries
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is a must
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Detail oriented and accurate
  • Shipping / Freight Forwarding experience is a value add
  • Result Driven and Business minded
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Ability to define requirements, analyse facts, and determine relevant solutions/actions to be taken
