Your New Role…

The Producer of CNNI Productions plays a vital role in CNN’s revenue-driving content team. In this role you will be responsible for producing feature content for all of CNN’s platforms – from written digital features to crafting bite-sized social videos to filming full 30-minute TV documentaries – and will strive to innovate and experiment with new technologies.

This position is ideal for you if you have experience in producing beautiful, impactful stories for digital, TV, and social platforms. You’ll be able to use your passion for global storytelling and travel to tell ambitious stories, and will have the opportunity to nurture relationships and collaborate effectively with others to create content that helps the team to achieve success.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Write and craft content that connects with audiences – wherever they are and wherever they’re going next. Conceive story treatments across a range of different platforms, including digital, TV, and social media, while maintaining CNN’s high standards.
  • Work across CNN’s portfolio of sponsored series, often working in partnership with other producers or specialist section editors, to deliver against defined KPIs.
  • Travel extensively and collaborate with regional bureaus to introduce CNN’s global audience to the wonders, innovation, and compelling characters found in other locations.
  • Take on ambitious storytelling challenges, working with CNN’s on-air talent and many different teams to deliver content that distinguishes CNN from the company’s competitors.
  • Organise production logistics and production schedules, regularly working to tight deadlines.
  • Follow CNN’s editorial standards by working closely with Ofcom guidelines and following CNN’s defined editorial processes and procedures.
  • Work under the Commissioning Editor who will assign budgets and goals for each sponsored campaign, and work with Concept Development Executives to ideate new sponsorship series proposals.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Proven track record of creating engaging content (written, video, social) that drives traffic.
  • Strong writing and editing skills are essential skills for this role.
  • Relevant experience and passion in using social media as a publishing and audience engagement tool.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator.
  • Strong and proven editorial judgment.
  • Deep understanding of multiple platforms and different devices.
  • A good understanding of current affairs is a must.
  • Must be organised, efficient and able to multi-task booking, logistics, and research.
  • A positive, self-starting attitude will serve the candidate well in this position.
  • Must be comfortable traveling across the Middle East / Africa; cultural and security sensibilities required.
