Radiographer

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Radiographer is primarily responsible for operating Radiographic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images that aid in the diagnosis of various patient conditions.
  • They can specialize in certain areas of imaging, including sonography, MRI, CT, and mammography.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare the patient for Radiological procedure by positioning the patient, adjusting immobilization devices & equipment controls to get the perfect exposure.
  • Ensure to minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
  • Perform Radiological examination only after the double verification of the physician’s prescription and not entitled to substitute or change the ordered investigation.
  • Ensure the X Ray, MRI, etc. reports are accurate.
  • Spot patient discomfort and take appropriate measures to alleviate their concerns
  • Monitor and track the calibrations of the machine and keep record for the same
  • Ensure proper co-ordination with other centre for investigation reports.
  • Report the malfunctioning of machine or any abnormal results to the Radiologist/Manager.
  • Support patient with Surgical disposal apron as required.
  • Ensure FANR License & Radiology Badge is valid and renewed timely
  • Adhere to follow local radiation protection rules in general and dental radiography
  • Act as a Radiation Protection officer (RPO) if required.
  • Maintain and update the professional knowledge by attending radiation protection CME program and refresher training programs on regular interval.
  • Responsible to manage, maintain and record of radiation protection training, quality control reports, machine service records, personnel monitoring, inventory of the radiation generators records as per the federal and local regulations
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining the Radiographic equipment for proper functioning.
  • Encourage the patients to contact us in case of any adverse reactions or emergency.
  • Give information about the procedures /time taken to patient and bystanders.
  • Ensure to collect and file the consent forms on RIS before initiating the procedures
  • Ensure the presence of female technician in relation to the situation
  • Adhere to follow the waste management policy according to the MOH/DHA rules and regulations; always ensure waste bins are kept at the right locations.
  • Adhere to follow the handwashing policies and techniques.
  • Ensure hand hygiene by sanitizing and handwashing techniques.
  • Responsible to wear Lead Apron, Mask, PPE, Gloves etc. when dealing with patients in the X Ray room.
  • Place hazard signs for spillage of body fluids/ liquid if necessary.
  • Ensure clean and hygienic environment in the Radiology.
  • Ensure painless injection, Monitor, and record the expiry date of oral fluid.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging or equivalent.
  • Valid MOH/ DHA license or eligibility to obtain one.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experienced and proficient in operating CT Scan and MRI Equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a reassuring professional demeanor.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years proven Experience in the field.
