JOB DESCRIPTION

DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island is looking for a Rooms Controller to join the team! With 723 rooms, 14 food and beverage outlets, 7 Pools and a private beach, this award-winning property offers elevated comfort and food inspired by from around the world. A Rooms Controller provides operational support throughout Front Office, including Front Office, including but not limited to assisting as Duty Manager as required.

What will I be doing?

As a Rooms Controller, you will be responsible for the effective management and performance of all room allocations for guests. Responsibilities include:

  • Assign rooms based on guest preferences and special requests.
  • Pre-register VIPs and groups; prepare keys and welcome materials in advance.
  • Coordinate efficient check-in and pre-arrival procedures for groups.
  • Track and accommodate requests for room changes, early check-ins, and late check-outs.
  • Monitor out-of-order rooms and ensure accurate room inventory status.
  • Confirm reservations and cancellations; manage duplicate bookings and over-commitments.
  • Ensure rates align with market codes; document and report any discrepancies.
  • Verify guest billing accuracy and adjust folios as needed.
  • Run and analyze daily reports to support room planning and guest experience.
  • Communicate guest needs clearly across departments and follow up on resolution.

As with any job, we do have certain criteria that you will need to meet in order to be considered. These are detailed as follows:

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in Front Office, Reservations, or related rooms operations.
  • Strong understanding of PMS systems (e.g., Opera, OnQ) and room allocation processes.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Professional appearance and adherence to confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel reporting tools.
  • Prior experience in a similar 4- or 5-star hotel environment preferred.
