Job Description
  • Install and commission air conditioning and HVAC systems in guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, and back-of-house facilities, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
  • Ensure proper setup and calibration of systems, including the installation of thermostats, piping, refrigerant systems, and ventilation systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, including cleaning filters, checking refrigerant levels, and inspecting electrical components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on AC units and HVAC systems to minimize breakdowns and prolong the life of the equipment.
  • Carry out seasonal inspections of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Diagnose issues with air conditioning and HVAC systems, including electrical faults, refrigerant leaks, and mechanical failures, and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform repairs, such as replacing compressors, fans, motors, and air filters to ensure the system operates at peak performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair any issues related to heating, ventilation, and cooling systems promptly to minimize guest or operational impact.
  • Respond promptly to urgent service requests, addressing AC and HVAC issues as needed, especially in emergency situations or during high-demand periods.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure all work complies with local laws, environmental regulations, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Handle refrigerants and other materials in compliance with industry standards (e.g., EPA, local regulations).
  • Maintain a safe working environment by using the proper tools, equipment, and personal protective gear (PPE).
  • Report any major repairs or replacements to the Engineering Supervisor for review and approval.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and in good working condition.
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management to support the effective operation of the department and the broader goals of the property.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in HVAC, air conditioning, or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in air conditioning, refrigeration, or HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair, preferably in a hospitality or large-scale commercial environment.
  •  Proven expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC systems and related components.
  •  Strong knowledge of air conditioning systems, refrigerants, compressors, and electrical systems.
  •  Ability to work with HVAC maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment (e.g., multimeters, pressure gauges).
  •  EPA Certification (or equivalent certification) for handling refrigerants is required.
