Supervisor – Ramp & Baggage Operations

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
To take a proactive approach in planning, communicating, and executing best practises on the ramp to work towards agreed SLAs, OTP targets and managing disruption whilst creating a safe work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Allocates a team of ramp coordinators and senior coordinators as per skill level, workload and requirement and supports them throughout the shift with information to specials, off schedule operations, tight connections, focus points, etc. using applicable systems. (AIMS, Baggage360, SPLUNK, etc.)
  2. Oversees ramp compliance from service providers and ground handlers in line with flydubai procedures & processes for a safe turnaround operation.
  3. Works closely with the Terminal & Ramp team to identify operational challenges and implements the best course of action considering stand allocation, staff resources and baggage processing options.
  4. Provides support and guidance to the team to maintain a safe operational environment whilst achieving on time performance.
  5. Works closely with Dnata, flydubai baggage & cargo team to maximize hold space for checked in baggage, specials (Surfboards, WCH, human remains, etc.) rush baggage and bulky cargo that requires special preparation and handling.
  6. Ensures ramp quality and safety checks are conducted and identifies reoccurring issues and trends.
  7. Assists with delay allocation, investigation reports for ramp hazards and safety incidents as per flydubai procedures.
  8. Logs safety and service failures and suggests improvement options.
  9. Represents flydubai at GHA/FZ & EK – Ramp & Baggage operational shift meetings.
  10. Inspects flydubai property (vehicles, equipment, etc.) against any damage and documents all such incidents for submission to relevant stakeholder.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

Minimum Education Level Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or Equivalent)

Education / Experience Specific Requirements

  • Preferred No. of Years (with Relevant Degree) – 5
  • Preferred No. of Years (without Relevant Degree) – 6

Systems, Licensing, Language or Certification Requirements

  • DG CAT8
  • DCS
  • Load control experience desirable
  • UAE driving licence a must
