Overview

J&C Joel supply, manufacture, and install, a range of products into the entertainment and events industry. The core of its business is flame retardant fabrics, and manufacturing high-end technical and decorative drapery. Over the last 15 years J&C Joel has hugely grown and developed its stage engineering solutions through its Project’s department, which installs a wide range of systems, ranging from basic curtain tracks and drapery, through to high performance motorised rigging and stage engineering, with sophisticated automation controls.

Overall Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of International Sales, the role holder will be responsible for seeking out and winning jobs in order to meet and exceed the Middle East sales target, providing jobs for our team of project managers to deliver.

Based in UAE, there will be regular and varied travel required across the UAE and the wider GCC.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

    • To agree, meet and exceed the sales target, providing jobs for the Creative & Project Teams to deliver.
    • To handle incoming enquiries, communicating with and advising customers by phone, video call and email, to ensure the necessary information is obtained and passed to the Estimating team.
    • To work with the Head of International Sales Manager to identify, cultivate and establish new customer and specifier relationships.
    • To identify new markets for the department to sell into.
    • To carry out site visits and ensure accurate information is provided to the Estimating team.
    • To cost jobs and send quotations to customers.
    • To proactively follow up and chase pending quotations.
    • To adhere to company processes and, where they are not fit for purpose, flag with the relevant parties so they can be reviewed and updated.
    • To promote the cross selling of products and services across the business.
    • To pass on important customer feedback to your Manager.
    • To support the UK Standard Sales team by conducting sales visits to customer in your area and feeding back any relevant information.
    • To keep up to date with new products and services.
    • To develop and maintain industry knowledge and awareness through the regular reading of trade publications, webinars, training courses.
    • To attend trade shows when required.
    • Provide support and assistance to all colleagues across the company.
    • To carry out any other ad-hoc duties as requested by your manager.

Essential

  • Full driving licence.
  • Relevant industry experience – theatre / event / venues operation / construction.
  • Understanding of industry products such as track systems and stage engineering equipment.
  • Understanding of technical drawings
  • Understanding of tender specifications

Desirable

  • Rigging and trussing sales experience
