Uniform Linen Supervisor
Main Responsibilities:
- Managing overall daily operations of linen and laundry rooms
- Understand and execute all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs.
- Able to effectively communicate with other employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner ensuring quality controls are in place and manage internal customer needs
- Ensure all equipment sewing machine, embroidery machine and tagging machine are kept neat and in good condition through personal inspection and by allowing the laundry preventative maintenance programs
- To understand and strictly adhere to the hotel’s policy on fire, hygiene, Health, and safety and to handle all equipment, linen, and uniforms with care
- To always maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene
- To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff of all other departments
- To always provide a courteous and professional service
- Ensure quality controls are in place for all linen processes, rejecting any exceptions
- Always ensure a clean and tidy linen room and report to the Laundry Manager/ Assistant Laundry Manager if any items have been damaged (linen as well as uniforms)
- Report to Laundry Manager/ Assistant Laundry Manager in case any uniforms need to be discarded or replenished
- Ensure that linen and uniforms are properly stored and recorded
- Ensure that the proper procedure is followed when linen or uniform needs to be discarded
- Any linen which is torn is placed separately and returned to the seamstress for repair
- Ensures the team sorts and arranges all uniform for all different departments and place on the rails separate
- Ensures the team sorts and arranges all linen for all different departments and place on the racks separate at the designated area
- Coordinate with concerned department and conducts linen inventory and maintain record accordingly
- Oversee and ensure that uniform linen colleagues performance appraisals are followed and completed on a time basis
- Conduct On job training and compile the monthly training report
- To assure a smooth operation with the highest standards of service to the colleagues and guests
- To control and maintain efficient organization and work methods of the department
- Performs any other job as assigned by the Laundry Manager
- Organizes Rota, hours owing and overtime to suit the needs of the laundry department
- Listens to employee grievances and/or feedback and brings them to the attention of the Laundry Manager
- Gives feedback of employees work performance to the Laundry Manager
- Report any colleagues’ complaints/comments to the Laundry Manager
- Ensures and maintain a uniform linen room logbook
Requirements:
- Minimum of one-year experience in a similar role with preferable previous experience in a luxury hotel/ resort
- Intermediate or Equivalent or Diploma or vocational training in hospitality
- Computer literacy in using MS office along with experience in using inventory management software and Hotel Management systems like Opera
- Great personality and positive attitude
- Good knowledge in embroidery machine, marking Tagging machine washing machines, dryer, sewing machine
- Good communication and training skills
- Energetic, friendly, flexible, motivated, and able to work independently
- Good English communication skills
